Aug. 16 newsstand

I got a late start on the day due to work & family commitments, but that's a good thing, because we had breaking news today.

Iowa on the schedule for next 2 years
The AP article says the race is likely to remain in June (I would expect the fourth Sunday date, two weeks after Texas).
Expect an update from the Des Moines Register tomorrow, but here's the teaser.
Rusty says, "It's an honor for us at Iowa Speedway to continue our relationship with a primary sponsor like Iowa Corn and, of course, the Indy Racing League." Thankfully, he didn't get too excited and call it the Daytona Racing League or anything ...
IndyCar.com's version of the story.

Lots of Hideki Mutoh updates
The Palm Beach Post has a nice story about Hideki Mutoh and Alex Lloyd as future IRL stars. The writer says Lloyd is slated to run Marty Roth's car in the season finale, but other channels have said he's turned down that offer and will maybe explore a future deal with TCGR instead. Mutoh is slated to run Chicagoland in a third Panther car.
AP: Hideki Mutoh has also passed his rookie test.
Even the pipes of the IRL, Mike King, gets in on the Mutoh/Lloyd love on IndyCar.com.

Some more stuff
Cincinnati Enquirer: George happy with team but concerned
A nice piece on Vision Racing, how it's close, but not quite in Victory Lane yet. Also notable is that Vision might cut back to two cars.

A points battle update from Crash.net. Dixon says, "we have to go out and win."

A.J. Foyt explains in USA Today that they couldn't find speed for Manning, and describes "the flip" after the Kentucky race.
